Bellator Fighting Championships will begin its third season of mixed martial arts action in August, with featured fights including heavyweight and bantamweight tournaments, as well as a 115-pound division for women. CEO Bjorn Rebney has been steadily building a strong product, directing his promotion’s MMA tournaments at predominantly Hispanic markets. Bellator currently has a contract to be aired on ESPN Deportes, but the popularity is growing among traditional networks. Rebney is also working to debut his company on pay-per-view to capture a global audience.

While it’s great that fighters like current Middleweight Champion Hector Lombard and Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez are receiving an opportunity to showcase MMA tournaments to a new demographic, it has also recently been pointed out by MiddleEasy.com that Rebney is the son of Uproxx favorite and Internet legend Winnebago Man.
