Plaxico Burress, that guy who caught the game-winning touchdown against the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII, is acting up in jail. He lied to a prison guard, and now he’s no longer allowed to go outside. I thought that’s what jail was…
The former receiver, now in the protective-custody wing of the Oneida Correctional Facility, was slapped with a violation on Nov. 6, 2009, after he told a guard he had permission to phone his attorney, according to his disciplinary report.
The guard believed Burress, who was allowed to have his own cell, and let him make a call. In addition to losing recreation privileges, he was barred from using the phone for seven days. –NY Post.
Whoa whoa whoa, these guys are getting cell phones now? Can they use the internet? Because that would make jail awesome. It would be like a gay resort where one could be violently sodomized against one’s will. Actually, jail doesn’t sound so hot after all. Not when I can stay in mom’s basement rent-free.

If I’ve learned anything from Oz, it’s that if you have a cell phone in prison, some Russian dude gon’ shank you.
I think the article was just poorly written. They mean he has his own cell to stay in. Writing it the way they did does make you think “cell phone” but as EP says, we all learned from Oz that you can’t a cell phone in prison.
I grew up in a terrible neighborhood, where if you weren’t dead by 20, you were in jail. A couple years ago, someone I grew up with called me from jail. On his cellphone. He also friended me on Facebook recently. So, yes and yes. You can have a phone, and you can use the internet. You can also file a restraining order on someone who is in prison. Anything else shady you want to know?
No inmates in any NYS correctional facilty are allowed to have a cell phone. Cell phones are not even allowed inside the front gate by anyone. There is also no internet access for any inmates. Don’t believe the junk you read, it’s all B.S. .
dumbasses! they were clearly refferring to his own JAIL-cell; and that plax had lied to leave said CELL to use the jail phone
There are no cell phones allowed in prison. Can you imagine all the witness intimidation and hitmen hirings that would occur if convicts could have cell phones? And where would they charge them?
