Washington Nationals outfielder Nyjer Morgan should thank his lucky stars that he commit this atrocity of a outfielding play in a road game. Morgan, playing at home against the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday, gave chase to a fly ball that eventually would bounce off his glove and come to rest on the warning track. Morgan, instead of deciding to, you know, look for the ball, decides to throw his glove and pout, while Jones circles the bases like a naked baby running away from a bathtub. Jones would score, and the gentle souls running the official scorebook for this game would give him credit for an inside-the-park home run.
My ass. If this is a four-base hit, then I’m Elton John. Hold me closer, tiny dancerrrr! No, seriously. This has to be at least a two-base error. There’s no way that a guy can get credit for a base while the ball is sitting on the warning track. Judge for yourself and then tell me I’m crazy. It’s after the jump. as seen on Deadspin.

Scoring that as an ITP HR is some serious home cooking bullshit by the Camden Yards official score keeper.
Well, if OJ got away with it…..
UU, the game was in DC. Damn road-cookin’!
Can it be a 4 base error? He didn’t even really have to jump to catch that ball. No idea wtf he was doin out there.
@EP, I’m an idiot. Either way that is some bullshit.
Morgan was on the losing end of NY Met Angel Pagan’s ITP HR earlier in the week. The ball bounced into left center while he stood there like a boob.
I think the most impressive thing is it took Adam Jones 16 seconds from the ball hitting his bat to scoring at home plate!!! Thats FOUR seconds per 90 feet!!!! He moving! Probably the most contrating video ever… one guy whining and not being motivated, and the other kick butt rounding the bases. Kudos to Adam Jones!
In his defense, he thought he had knocked it over the wall…like he did to one last week. Was my defense any better than his? Tough to say.
