I’m not sure what the bigger deal is here: that Tim Tebow, a guy with equally rabid followers and detractors, was drafted in the first round by the Denver Broncos with the 25th overall pick? Or that Jimmy Clausen, the guy who some people were calling the most pro-ready quarterback in the draft, was left on the big board after the first round was over? Me personally, I’m still in shock that Roger Goodell decided to wear an actual suit instead of separates this year. Way to take a dump on tradition, commish.

If there was a star in last night’s draft, it was clearly Adam Schefter, the analyst that defected from the NFL Network that has single-handedly brought pro football news into the information age. Schefter OWNED Twitter last night, often announcing teams’ picks 4 or 5 slots before their selections were made on the telecast (and he’s already made a prediction for 2011). Either Schefter has a pact with Satan allowed him to peer into the future, or he hasn’t slept in the last week.

I think all of America should donate $1 to the Adam Schefter Deserves A Prostitute Fund. There is no way on God’s green earth that such a man has the time or energy in his day for conventional courtship, and Schef deserves to git sum as much as anybody. Say what you will about the draft being on Thursday night (and we have), at least one can get away from lugging the laptop into a bar to flip between Tweetdeck, SI’s Best Available List, and the KSK Draft Live Blog…not that we know anyone that was doing that… Complete list of 1st Round Picks.
