These are screencaps from the game Super Mario Crossover, and it’s exactly what it sounds like. It’s a Flash-based game that looks exactly like the old 8-bit “Super Mario Bros.” from Nintendo, but with one delicious exception: You can also play as one of the characters from a number of classic NES games.
Simon (Castlevania), Samus (Metroid), Mario, Link (The Legend Of Zelda), Mega Man, and Bill from Contra are all here, complete with their original powers from their respective games. When you grab mushrooms and flowers, their weapons upgrade accordingly. It’s quite awesome. Here’s the link, and I guess I’ll see you sometime next Monday, because I can’t imagine you doing anything else with your free time before the weekend. Hopefully that’s just hyperbole. –via Kotaku.

They only have Bill from Contra? What a let down. I really wanted to be the other guy from the game. Wait…they have names?
I downloaded an old Castlevania game to my PS3 a couple weeks ago. There’s a game that hasn’t lost it’s luster. Megaman either for that matter.
Can I be Bald Bull?
I want to choose from the fat guy, skinny guy and normal guy in the original Ice Hockey.
@EP, I think Punte already called dibs on Bald Bull
I’m holding out for Golgo 13.
Gimme Bo Jackson from Tecmo Bowl.
the guy with the red pants in contra was “lance”, not “bill”. it’s so freaking sad that I remember that
