Never had a No. 1 seed blown a 3-1 series advantage in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs before last night, when the Washington Capitals lost to the Montreal Canadiens, 2-1. The Caps had three chances–two of which came at home–to put Montreal away. They could not.
Alexander Ovechkin had a goal disallowed on a ticky-tack call and Mike Green probably played as bad a game as anyone in the playoffs last night, giving up a bad penalty which led to one goal and giving up on a puck that was promptly buried behind the net for another. But Canadiens goalie Jaroslav Halak stood on his head for most of the game, recovering nicely from his debacle in Game 3.
I would feel bad for the Capitals’ diehard fans…if they had any. By now the red and blue has been tossed in the drawer in exchange for Redskins’ burgundy. Although, having spent some time in the area, it was fun to just see Caps jerseys everywhere on a given day and know that there was a game that night. But that’s all over for now. Now we’ll have to hear about how Donovan McNabb is…at least until the start of the Redskins’ season proves otherwise.

I guess the home ice isn’t much of an advantage when all you use it for is to pick the next guy to try out as goalie.
Hey Jackass… there is no blue in the Caps jerseys…

that article for the ‘ticky tack’ call is gayer than Clay Aiken giving Andy Dick a rusty trombone. Whiny little bitches.
Perhaps the Caps lost because they shit the bed the past three games, twice on home ice.
Ovi once again choked, along with the rest of the team. The Caps are the equivalent to the Phoenix Suns of a few years ago in that they can put up numbers and dominate in the regular season, but can’t hang when it counts.
Pretty sure they call that kind of interference about as much as diving…how many diving calls were there in Game 6?
BurgUndy, jerk.

Joey Galloway = Super Bowl, fucko!
YAY! NHL playoff post! Now….lets hear some more about the NFL draft! did you see what that one guy was wearing? I wonder if it affected who he chose in the draft?
I wonder how fake Ted Leonsis feels about all this!
Funniest. Thing. Ever.
Even with all those bizaare Montreal kept getting near the end of the game for the past 3 games, Washington still couldn’t tie, or beat Montreal.
Semin shot blanks.
As much as I hate the floppy Canadiens, it was great to witness such a historical chokejob. Congratulations on have 12 offensive weapons and zero goalies. Nice roster building.
Nah…Now I get to be pissed off at how badly D.C. United sucks for a while. THEN I worry about the ‘Skins.
No, we don’t have a baseball team. Why do you ask?
