Professional wrestler Shawn Michaels called it quits after losing a “Streak vs. Career” match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania. See, The Undertaker was…ah, forget it. I was never a big Shawn Michaels guy, but I have no qualms about Eric Gargiulo’s writeup here:
Shawn Michaels has his critics, but I am not one of them. Over the last three decades, Michaels has probably been my favorite wrestler to watch. It’s not like he’s really retired, right? I mean, not really really retired. He’ll come back at SummerSlam and then hit somebody with a baseball bat while wearing a black T-shirt and crotch-chopping over their still bodies. Or maybe he’ll take up knitting. Retired guys are weird like that.

That was some shit, but I’ve come around on that somewhat. Bret should have come up with his own way to drop the belt. When I look at it from McMahon’s perspective, with your champ jumping ship for a new promotion, I’m not sure what else they could have done.

I was absolutely sure he would beat The Undertaker and, make fun all you want, was absolutely saddened by his loss. Shawn was always my favorite. Now, maybe Bret will follow him out, so I don’t have to see him on yet another Monday Night Raw.
I hated Michaels growing up for fucking over Bret and being a douche, but he was always entertaining and for that I give him credit. And his entrance music (while corny) is the best ever.
Never liked Michaels, and his nickname “The heartbreak kid” was gay.

Never a big fan of HBK either, but he always put on really good matches. Also, the best part of Wrestlemania for me was learning that Edge used to go by the name “Sexton Hardcastle”

For only $100 you could’ve had a Montreal stripper do that for you…and likely caught less STD’s.
If there’s anything that this last Wrestlemania has taught us, it’s that Bret was in on the Montreal “screwjob.”
Why would you go back to work for someone that did that to you, and (oh yeah) killed your brother, too?
It was the simplest way to get the title of of Bret without actually making him lose to Shawn in Canada.

Watching some of the clips from his old matches was pretty insane. It is pretty difficult to name a bad HBK match, but the good ones come rushing back. Ironman with Bret Hart, Ladder match with Razor Ramon, Undertaker 1 and 2. For a guy that hasnt held a World title in 7 years he always kept things interesting. Even the born again DX where he didnt look at naked girls and swear and instead were merchandise pitchmen was pretty good.
Bret screwed Bret.
