The latest preview for Tecmo Bowl Throwback is out, and it looks like the game is coming together nicely. A couple of obvious observations: First, the game doesn’t appear to be licensed by the NFL, and probably won’t be, which is fine. I personally would like to see them license the names of some of those good-to-very-good players from the 1990s and bring them back (looking at you, Bam Morris and Ray Crittenden). Also, the graphics updates for the new console are terrific, and it looks like the classic look and feel of the original games will remain intact. The game is scheduled for release on Xbox Live and the PlayStation network this spring. Video and images are after the jump. via Game Trailers. Thanks, Todd.

Looks pretty fun, but can’t they add some old guys in there? That abortion of a game All-Star Football was even able to get some retired guys in there.
meant All-Pro Football
If it doesn’t have Christian Okoye, Clint Didier, or Phil McConkey in it, it isn’t real Tecmo.
+1 EP
Didier. Jesus tap-dancing Christ.
Don’t forget Brad Muster and Tom Rathma (no room for the “n” on the end).
EP, I never laughed as hard as when my friend selected “Clit Diddler” in our fantasy draft back in ’90.
Okoye was Super Tecmo. The Chiefs were too shitty to make the original Tecmo Bowl.
