It’s about that time where America actually spends the day giving a damn about hockey. It’s nice, but I don’t expect it to last. Even a sport dysfunctionally-organized professional sport can be popular twice a year. Anyway, that’s an argument for tomorrow. We should bask in the glow of vulcanized rubber while we can.

Great game and great win by Canada, USA played great throughout the tourny and the OT finish was amazing. And the death of the luger was a tragic accident to who no one was at fault, it’s a dangerous sport and things happen. Holy crap did i just make a serious post?

My efforts to be polite 20 posts ago seem to have failed. I’m a actually a french canadian separatist from Quebec, but I don’t get why only ”CanadianGirl” and I seem to be able to appreciate the fact it was one hockey game for the ages. To draw attention away from this USA-Canada war of words, I want to mention that it is almost only through sports that most french quebecer feel part of Canada.
Also, they showed canadian soldiers in Kandahar a few times during the game and two soldiers were holding a sign taht said ” Canada-USA, Brothers in Arms, but not on the ice” I thought that was amazing.

Great game, eh? It’s better that Canada won because the US would have had to melted their gold medals to give to China.
I like it how people automatically go from talking about a hockey game to completely irrelevant topics. Like the size of a country and how it relates to its… what? Strength? pfft. Canada has won almost as many military victories than France. (OH SHIT, they were settle by the French, I forgot!) Also, disregard the fact that a good 50% of it is UNINHABITED. And socialized medicine, where did that come from? I don’t know about you, but I like it when I keep more than half of my earned money, and it’s not given to pay for someone else’s problems. How well does that system work out anyway? I’ve heard some rather bad things from some temporary citizens there. And people dying? Maybe even the most off the wall. Who care’s if it was Canada hosting when the luger died? Remember that Nazi Germany hosted the Olympics at one time, and Hitler was a guest of honor. Now personally, I think it was rather odd how Crosby did absolutely nothing the whole game up until he scored the game winner. Comments?
Great game. The US should be proud. Miller and Kesler we’re easily the two best players on the ice – something we Canucks fans appreciate on a regular basis.
And despite the intense competition between our two countries on the ice (a good thing) I think for the most part we remain pretty good friends.
