ICING ON THE CAKE: PORTER’S PICK-SIX
02.08.10Update: Video is fixed.
Here’s that interception return from the Saints’ Tracy Porter, and I can’t remember the last time that I jumped up and down during a Super Bowl like I did as Porter was running down the field. After the game, Peyton Manning–who’s now being labeled as a choker again for some reason–stayed on message, repeating to reporters that Porter “made a great play” and refusing to elaborate. You can see Manning get into the ear of Reggie Wayne, the intended receiver, after the play. So who does Manning really blame? Obviously not himself…
SITE NEWS: I’m flying back from Vegas today, so posting will be a bit scattershot. Apologies all around.

WHODAT!!!! GEAUX SAINTS!!!! HAPPY LOMBARDI GRAS TO ALL THE TRUE DATS OUT THERE!!!!
He’s a choker because he’s 9-9 in the playoffs and has an asterisk title due to being able to suck less than Lovie and Sex Cannon.
Well he was playing in Miami, so he was doing his best Dan Marino impression.
It was never Dan’s fault always the receivers fault.
I guess blocking a would be tackler in the back is legal now…
Just because Porter jumped the route doesn’t mean Wayne finished it.
I take that back, that was pretty piss poor on Manning’s part.
Porter made a good play, but that was all Reggie Wayne, it was a timed route, and he didn’t run it right. Manning is by far a Choker…Um….4 Time MVP….who else has that? I’m waiting to hear?
If any of you anything about football then you would know that it is Reggie Wayne’s responsibility to get to the inside on this slant route. It is a timing route and Wayne got beat inside so the result will be a pick.
@Ed – if the tackler’s already run himself out of the play like Manning did, there’s no reason to flag it.
Wait the Super Bowl was last night? What happened? Did the Giants win?
@JB
I don’t know about the MVPs, but would you like to see a short list of quarterbacks with .500 records in the playoffs?
Mark Brunell
Kordell Stewart
Rex Grossman
Aaron Brooks
Tommy Maddox
And, of course, Battleship Manning.
I have special insight because I played high school football. That was definitely an interception.
That was a great taint! Touchdown after interception
@ Dimpie…no, they were the big losers in it all…like my liver
I like it just for Phil Simms getting faced. “If I were the Saints, I wouldn’t blitz…” The Saints send seven and score six.
@JB Regular season MVPs are all well and good, but give me Superbowl rings over MVPs any day. Reg season MVPs are given to the mist valuable player of a team, obviously. That in no translates to best QB ever.
Cool the saints won FUCKL THE SAINTS AND COLTS .Patriots r back next year enjoy it New Orleans your mediocre team will NEVER reach the big game again i bet my life on that
