Here’s that video of that Jets fan being arrested during that AFC Divisional Round game on Sunday, apparently for nothing more than being a Jets fan. We can see that the poor bastard is being cuffed as a Charger fan continually shouts to police, “He didn’t do anything!” It’s hard to tell since the video is clearly edited. But now a post from a Jets messageboard–from someone claiming to be the creator of that video on a Jets messageboard–seems to corroborate that story. Yes, we’re citing a Jets messageboard. Shoot us.

I’m the one that posted the video and this is what [went] down. This guy was chanting Jets for about 10 minutes straight. This is the first part of the video Obnoxious yes, but definately not breaking the law. Then this lady in a wheelchair says for him to come down to her and smacks him in the face and tells him to shut the f**k up. I didn’t get this on tape.[..]
He walked back up to his wife/gf. Apparently [surveillance] called the cops to the area. When they walked up I believe she pointed her finger at him. They just knew there was some disturbance and they were checking in on it. The cops walked over to him and he was still chanting Jets. It didn’t seem like they were into fact finding. The next thing you know he gets pulled which is the second part of the video. –The Gang Green forums.
So apparently being a Jets fan is illegal in the state of California. It’s a great idea on the surface, but really shouldn’t we just be executing them? Less paperwork, plus Jets fans make for great kindling. vid from Deadspin. Also.

True story: I got kicked out of the Staples Center for rooting for my Knicks too vocally (read obnoxiously and drunkenly).
If that was Detriot, they would have eaten him and then shitted him onto the field
San Diego bars won’t let you in if your license is a day expired, even if you’re 32, and San Diego cops routinely arrest guys about to ship off to war for having a beer on the beach. So yeah, this seems about par for course.
That said, all Jets fans should be locked up in advance just as a precaution like the wolfman.
It’s not like my hatred for the Chargers, needed more fuel, but this definitely helps the fire burn a bit brighter.
I’m still, getting the, han,g of t,his,, comma thing.,
Shouldn’t the cops be out on the street arresting some minorities?
And yet Tila Tequila is allowed to vex all of southern California without getting hauled off to jail.
This guy was chanting Jets for about 10 minutes straight. If that isn’t a felony, it should be.
Ever read that fine print on the back of your tickets? It says it’s a revocable license to attend the game. What can get it revoked? Being an obnoxious J-E-T-S fan, apparently.
I was thrown out of the now-imploded RCA Dome a long time ago for cheering for the Jets (on big plays, scores, etc – nothing like this guy), and expect the very same thing to happen at Lucas Oil this weekend. By far, if ANY city hates you for cheering for another team, it’s Indianapolis.
It might shock people to know this, but you can get away with wearing any team’s clothing/apparel in any of the stadiums in Boston without even being hassled much at all.
It’s surprising because anyone who doesn’t root for the Sawx is a fackin queeah!
sounds about right same thing happend to me at a Aves vs Redwings playoff game in colorado minus about 9 mins of cheering…prick cops i think i touched 3 stairs on my ejection(and i started at row 4)
San Diego cops routinely arrest guys about to ship off to war for having a beer on the beach.
If that is even moderately serious, it is gay as fucking hell. Those cops have to be Bills fans, no one else is so jaded.
I’m confused. No one resisted arrest and the the one dude chose to go out with the officer. I wasn’t there but I guarentee that the guy that got cuffed had been warned at least once for something. Simple lesson, don’t argue with the police. It has nothing to do with the football team that is supported. It’s not like any of the rated-G Chargers fans beat him down. Try and imagine the reverse happening in the Meadowlands. I doubt the cops would have found anyone from California to link up.
@ Bad Andy:
“Simple lesson, don’t argue with the police.”
Spoken like a true idiot with a slave mentality. With people like you, the police can save big $ on shoe polish, they can just have you lick all their boots – you coward. Right is right and wrong is wrong, regardless of badge and gun. This country is a republic you pansy. That means everyone is supposed to follow the same laws. Cops do not have the right to cuff and stuff you for committing no crime. Cowards like you are why this country is so far down the hole. Cops need to wake up and start following their oath. “Do what I demand or else!” is not the motto of true peace officers. oathkeepers (dot) org
Question. As the cops are taking him out there are two guys standing about two or three rows behind him wearing gold lapel pins and suits. They look like they’re in their seats, watching the game before all this goes down.
Who wears a suit to a football game? Why did someone get arrested for no apparent reason in front of these guys, call me crazy…but who the hell are they?
This is typical behavior of criminal cops. They treat civilians as nothing more than animals. They treat civilians worse than animals. Look how the first thing they do is dehumanize this guy. Rather than talk to him, or try to determine his side of the story they just break him down.
If this is a case of he said, vrs she said, then he’s got a right to state his side of the story. What’s the world coming to if I can make an acusation that’s totally biased, and without any physical evidence, and get someone else cuffed and stuffed like this.
What a nightmare we live in. This is why I don’t go places that are being run by pigs. Stadiums, airports, etc…they all pay protection to cops gangs.
Who said “simple lesson, don’t argue with cops”…ok, so when your accused of a crime you didn’t commit, don’t argue, kiss their boots and say “yes, take me to jail, spray me with mace, I love cops!”
badge worship makes me sick. Wearing a uniform doesn’t make you a hero.
Police are more concerned with “Officer Safety” than they are with the law, public welfare, our safety….everything.
It’s their absolute first priority. Some hero. Their job description is to violate all of your rights in the name of “Officer Safety”. These guys are scared of their own shadows. That’s why they can’t do anything without 9 of em acting as a gang.
I am glad the Chargers lost after seeing those cops that thinj they are God and can violate someones rights. Is that why they call them pigs
Why not argue with the cops? Are they somehow beyond reproach? They should be argued with, and fought tooth and nail, if they’re in the wrong. Sure, you’re not going to win in the short term, you’ll probably be slapped with all kinds of criminal charges, and you’ll be introduced to wonderful law enforcement techniques like pain compliance, fetid 10-hour coffee breath treatment, and unwashed pig stench, but surely this is better than rolling over like a good little lapdog. What is wrong with the people of this country that they’re so willing to lay down and play nice for any semblance of authority, whether the people behind it are doing the right thing or not? Sickening. Pathetic. If the police want respect, they need to use that malnourished gray thing inside their skulls and start treating people with a little respect. And by the way, it’s not “civilians” versus cops. Cops are civilians.
Being a Steelers fan we don’t have to worry about those kind of things we normally outnumber fans even on the road. Although I do remember a game played in Pittsbrugh against the Browns where a guy got beat down in the bathroom, then pissed on for being an obnoxious Browns’ fan, he knew he had it coming and took it like a man I mean c’mon who still cheers for the Browns.
wow, you poor, ignorant sheep… i read these comments going on about how he was a Jets fan, and no concern about the police state your country is quickly turning into. But, as time goes on you will forget this guy, and the true “hero” of this clip(the complete stranger who stands up for this guy and ends up being hauled away as well). Without men like that, this is the way it will be in your quiet little neighborhoods. It’s coming, we’ve given police too much power, and it’s biting us in the ass.
What about the cop at the end of the video asking one guy to take it outside with him for a “talk”. Dueling is illegal for us citizens but obviously not the cops.
I’m a thoroughly embarrassed and pissed off cop in Ohio. These coward thug turd “cops” in CA should have been hauled by their balls to the middle of the field and beaten by every American citizen in the stands. Shame on all who stood by and watched. (oathkeepers.org)
the police in cali are thugs
the fat sgt should learn how to cuff,
hope the guy has a lawyer a true case of wrongful
arrest
but then again it isnt new york
wow what ass holes n they say we have free rights the cops or bad theses days i bet after they put some one in jail ferr having weed they prop go home and smoke smoke a bowl them self
