PRO WRESTLING BEATS MMA–IN RATINGS
01.14.10
The best matchup in professional wrestling isn’t happening in the ring, but in the ratings. This past Monday night was especially interesting, as the WWE, UFC, and the relative upstart wrestling promotion TNA all had shows on the same night.
WWE remains the leader when it comes to cable television. Ratings data reveals that USA Network’s RAW posted a 3.7 cable rating (3.2 household) with 5.45 million viewers and a 2.1 rating among adults 18-49.
By comparison, UFC Fight Night on Spike TV averaged a 1.1 household rating with 1.71 million viewers and a 0.9 among adults 18-49. The cable rating (the one wrestling and MMA sites refer to as “the rating”) was not available at press time, but a good ballpark would be a 1.3.

WWE has entered 2010 with a bang, partly because Monday Night Football is over, but also because of TNA’s “Impact” is yapping at its heels. Camel Clutch Blog points out that over 2 million people tuned in for the junior company’s show in that same time period. And boxing? Oh…jeez, sorry boxing…I don’t seem to have any ratings for you. Better luck next week.

The secret to success? BEWBS.
Dana White is fixin’ to join the Kiss My Ass Club.
UFC and TNA both air on Spike, so I’m pretty sure they weren’t both showing this past Monday.
The UFC fights were tape delayed where i live, so that could probably be the reason for all this. I didn’t watch cause i already knew the outcomes.
Piggy’s right. The TNA broadcast was the week before the UFC Fight Night. Those were also the first ever Monday broadcasts for both companies, so they didn’t exactly have brand loyalty to go with them. Not to mention that Raw has been on every week since 1993 and is probably the biggest non-sporting program on cable. It’s not really a surprise that WWE won both of those nights. If the UFC had won it would’ve been a shock, but if TNA had won it would mean that the damn Mayans are right.
Sweet jorts.
this not wrestling man just dumb bad acting who cares about the rating doesn’t make no differences at all, just stop it.
Are there any sites that will tell where old wrestlers are ?
