I had heard that the Alaska-Fairbanks hockey program was planning to re-do their excellent entrance video, featuring a polar bear that has the ability to fly through space and I thought, “That would be just like painting bangs on the Mona Lisa.” But they did re-do the video, and somehow it’s even more awesome. Just enjoy it. It’ll be the only video of a polar bear in a fighter jet nuking the planet, only to travel back in time to crash through the roof of an ice rink that you see all day. Probably. –as seen on MGoBlog.

okay, so a cryogenically frozen Giant Polar Bear wakes up, destroys an oil tanker (I’m guessing at what that boat was), Flies a Jet with two other polar bear jet pilots, then it blew up the entire planet by dropping a bomb into a volcano, traveled through a worm hole, and on the other side was a hockey rink?? Was this directed by M. Night Shamalalalalala?? No, wait, forget I asked, because this was AWESOME!!
Wait a minute. Nuking volcanoes from space jets? OMG, XENU HAS RETURNED AS A POLAR BEAR! Quick, call Tom Cruise!
Polar bears flying jets is a total rip-off of T-Rexs flying jets.
That’s the first time anything using the Top Gun soundtrack didn’t seem gay.
Insider stuff from a U. Alaska Grad: the boat at the beginning is labeled “the Seawolf”, which is the mascot for instate rival UA-Anchorage (that’s where I went – our colors aren’t red, but whatever – I can appreciate an epic polar bear-zilla montage).
Also, the polar bear’s F-16s are, intentionally or not, accurate for Fairbanks. Eielson Air Force Base is in Fairbanks, and has a wing of F-16s.
