As we all are painfully aware, there is a lot of crap on YouTube, especially when it comes to half-witted mouth breathers expounding their ill-informed analyses of the world of sports for anyone dumb enough to click play. I’m looking at you, Kige.

That’s why I was delighted to come across The Sports Report Girl. As you can see, she knows what’s she’s talking about. I was also fortunate enough to get in contact with her today and she agreed to a brief interview. Enjoy.

Thanks for taking the time to answer a few questions, Sports Report Gal. May I call you Shi?

My first name is actually two words… Shi Ne… but it’s pronounced like Sheena. But you can call me Queen of the Jungle. (ed. note: I’m a total tool)

You certainly know your stuff. It appears you primarily cover college football, but I have seen some of your videos where you discuss the NFL and even hockey. Is it safe to say that college football is your primary area of expertise?

Most definitely. That and the NHL. I really love the NFL, but there are too many talking heads covering it, so I put my energies elsewhere.

Is there any person, influence or experience growing up that helped mold you into becoming The Sports Report Girl?

My father and brother… that’s how we bonded when I was growing up. Plus, who doesn’t love laying on the couch screaming at the TV all day?

Your site,TheSportsReportGirl.com, is chock-full of information and analysis: you have your video reports on the site and you blog as well. How do you find the time? Is this your full-time job or do you have other irons in the fire, so to speak?

I barely find the time to get everything done. If it weren’t for a few key contributors to the site, I never would. But I’m in LA, so I do some of that acting stuff from time to time.

Tell me about your video, “What A Weird Dream I Just Had.” How did you come up with that idea?

The concept for that show came from the guy behind Trufan.com… really cool site. Anyway, the idea for that video came to me Sunday night after the fall out from Rodney Harrison’s comments. I just knew I had to shoot it. Weird, right?

If I may be so bold, because I know the With Leather readers are wondering, is there a Sports Report Guy?

Well, like I said, I live in LA… which, in case you didn’t know, is full of douche bags… so no, there’s no Sports Report Guy.

I have to ask, although you did mention that you are a fan of With Leather and are familiar with what goes on here, is it going to bother you if the With Leather commenters make some not-so-polite comments?

I’ve been posting videos on YouTube for over a year now, so I’m used to the occasional “off color” remark and comment.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer these inane questions. I hope it wasn’t too painful. Best of luck to you with everything.

Thanks, Weed Against Speed! It wasn’t any more painful than that root canal I had last year. ;)
