10.07.09 BRAYLON EDWARDS TRADED? THAT WAS QUICK…
Less than a week after punching out on of LeBron James’ “kids,” Browns wide receiver Braylon Edwards was literally kicked out of Cleveland. And I thought all those references to LeBron “owning the town” were just figurative. Braylon was sent to the Jets for wide receiver Chansi Stuckey, linebacker Jason Trusnik, and two draft picks, reportedly a 3rd- and a 5th-round pick.
The trade comes just two days after a Cleveland man accused Edwards of assault outside a nightclub in the city. The man is a friend of Cavs star LeBron James, who said Edwards’ alleged assault was motivated by “jealousy.”
This is the second major trade between the Browns and Jets since Mangini joined Cleveland after being dismissed by the Jets in January. The Jets acquired the fifth overall pick from the Browns in April, and then selected Sanchez with the choice. via.
Yeah, what the hell is up with the big trades? Is Mangini raiding the Browns? We’ll know in three months, depending on whether or not the entire Jets locker room ends up with a staph infection. also.

I hate the Browns but if you can get 4 players for one of the worst WR’s in the league, that’s a job well done.

I gotta defend my Michigan boy here.
Calling him the one of the worst receivers in the game is a little harsh, especially when he has plugs like Quinn and Anderson throwing the ball to him (Charlie Frye and Trent Dilfer before them).
The guy had 1289 yards and 16 td’s in 2007 and was the reason Derek Anderson went to the Pro Bowl. Sure he lead the league in drops last year but when you’re targeted as much as he is, dropped passes happen. T.O. lead the league in drops in 2007 and he had 81 receptions, 1355 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Dallas Clark, Terrell Owens, Chad Ochocinco, Reggie Wayne, Antonio Gates, Steve Smith, Roddy White, Santonio Holmes, Andre Johnson, Hines Ward, Marques Colston and Donald Driver all have more drops than Edwards this season.
I would argue that the Bucs Michael Clayton is the worst WR in the league. 1193 yards and 7 td’s his first season and only 1600+ and 2 td’s in 59 games since. That’s an average of only 27 yards per game. That’s brutal.
I’d get secret services over to Lebron’s house right now and put him under 24-hour watch. If punching him or a member of his entourage is all it takes to get out of Cleveland, you’re gonna see a lot of people showing up there with bats and brass knuckles. I heard Joshua Cribbs is on his way over there now.

Enrico’s assessment is closer to the truth than Biggie on this one.
As somebody who watches these scrubs every week, Edwards is fucking horrible. He gives up on routes routinely, never ever tries to break up errant passes or picks, and only drops big catches when they count. He has no trouble catching passes after the game is decided.
Fuck off, and godspeed Mr. Edwards.
