NFL Commissioner and noted ginger Roger Goodell is gearing up for a throwdown in preparations for his league’s next CBA, so much so that he has publicly confirmed that he and the league are ready to let negotiations play out over the last year of the current CBA, 2010, which would see teams field their rosters without the restrictions of a salary cap.
“Because of the timing, we recognize there’s a strong reality there will be an uncapped year, and the owners have planned for it,” Goodell said. “What the owners’ intent is is to get an agreement.”
Negotiations will center around the true percentage of revenue that NFL players are currently receiving. While the CBA caps “total football revenues” that players are eligible to receive at 60 percent, while the league contends that figure to be closer to 75 percent. But to be fair, that 15 percent is include in Goodell’s “petty cash” and “petty whores” fund. Of course, once the petty whores find out about the petty cash, all hell’s gonna break loose. Uh, not that I know from experience or anything…

I guess this means no Christmas in 2010.
I like to think that CBA stands for “Cock and Boner Agreement.”
You can’t blame the NFL. They just want to duplicate the success of Major League Baseball.
Taco, or the NHL. That Gary Bettman…what a genius!
