08.10.09 UFC 101: SILVA MASTERS ‘FADEAWAY KNOCKOUT’
When Quinton “Rampage” Jackson allegedly raised concerns over the integrity of Forrest Griffin’s chin before UFC 86, Griffin responded by beating Jackson in a unanimous (yet controversial) decision. But it was still stunning to see Anderson Silva take on Griffin in UFC 101 Saturday and knock him out with a simple right jab to that chin. While backpedalling. And I think he was eating a sandwich in the other hand.
Skip to the 0:38 mark on the video [after the jump] to see the replay from various angles. Or enjoy the GIF of Griffin–a Columbus, Ohio native, no less–getting knocked down a third time before the fight was stopped. While Griffin seems to be finished in the light-heavy division, Silva seems to be running out of people to fight. After lackluster wins against Patrick Cote and Thales Leites, who I guess were pretty good, it seems natural for Silva to fight larger, angrier gentlemen. Also, B.J. Penn choked out Kenny Florian. Technically, it was a rear-naked choke, which really isn’t as gay as it sounds. top img. gifs.

Is Griffin’s jaw made of glass? My aunt slaps me harder than that from her sex swing.
No, Silva’s fist is made of adamantium.
That was the single most lopsided MMA fight I’ve ever seen. Griffin couldn’t touch him, Silva was toying with him, and Griffin just realized it was better to lie down than to keep getting hit in the face.
A “BJ Penn” sounds like my kinda penitentiary.
GSP vs Silva at a halfway weight class would be amazing. GSP would definitely give Silva a run for his money.
That Silva could move up a weight class and not just win, but destroy with power, was a game-changing and perhaps UFC-altering moment. That’s what Silva and his manager, Ed Soares, wanted to discuss with White.
With his arm wrapped around White’s shoulder, Soares leaned in and delivered a proposition. “Spider” Silva would move permanently to light heavyweight, even if it meant the unorthodox move of giving up his middleweight belt.
“I can do that,” White smiled, a bit stunned at the offer. “I like that. We can do that.”

Yeah, I wanna see Silva and GSP fight. I’d also like to see Silva fight a shark.
Shorty after the fight, Wikipedia said that Silva beat Griffin by MURDER. Hilarious! Also, someone decided to spice up BJ Penn and Kenny Florian’s fighting names. Check it out.
