Former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick completes his federal prison term today, where he’s expected to shed the ankle monitor that he’s worn since his home confinement began on May 20th. Vick, having been released by the Falcons last month, still faces the obstacle of reinstatement by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell before he can play for another NFL team.
As soon as that ankle bracelet comes off, Vick becomes the black Brett Favre, meaning that the speculation regarding his NFL future will be endless, and pointless, until somebody actually signs him. But instead of the question being “Will he or won’t he,” it’s “Where?” I’ve said before that any on-field benefit an NFL team would enjoy with Vick wouldn’t exceed the potential hailstorm at the box office. Do I want to see Vick back in the league? Hell, yeah. Do I want him on my team? Not a chance.
But any team could lessen that burden by signing Vick during the season, after all the season tickets have been bought and paid for. Some reports indicate that Goodell may not rule until then, anyway. But Vick’s best shot of playing everyday might involve another act of contrition–playing in the UFL. It’s hard to imagine anyone not being remorseful after playing there.

The NFL: where dog electrocution happens. They should really go with that slogan once they reinstate him.
@JJ, or they could go with, The NFL, where killing people is okay, dogs…not so much.
If he got signed by Cleveland, what would happen to the dog pound ?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!! It’s been so long…
\wipes away light powdery dust that secreted from eye as I lack the ability to cry…cuz cryings for pussies!
The black Brett Favre?
The man has paid his debt to society; there is no need to further punish him.
Hey Jim – You know Heatley killed a dude too, right? The NHL ain’t all that squeaky clean, either.
Michael Vick is more of a cat person.
Thank you, Merk, you beat me to the punch. Now get your ass in the kitchen and fry me up some canadian bacon.
This might be the first sentence he’s ever completed.
I think there’s a difference between getting in a car accident and accidentally killing your passenger, and murdering dogs with your bare hands.
Don’t get me wrong, Heatley is a douche. But he’s no Vick.
He killed a fucking human!!! By driving his car into a wall…at speeds so high that it split the car in half and ejected Snyder from the car, fracturing his skull and breaking his back in 6 spots…then Heatley only had to give 150 speeches about how driving fast is stupid. Humanity has it priorities all fucked up. Although killing cuddily wuddily dogs is wrong…I’m serious…really!!
One was an accident. The other was intentional. You have to see the difference.
Accident or not, he intentionally drove too fast for conditions and for his own abilites.
Heatley was charged with vehicular homicide (killing someone with a car for you laypeople) as a result of the crash. He pleaded guilty to second-degree vehicular homicide, driving too fast for conditions, failure to maintain a lane, and speeding.
While not intentional (which is why it wasn’t first degree), his actions directly resulted in the death of a human being, plain and simple. It’s no different than driving drunk and killing your passenger. The second he accelerated to 50mph past the speed limit, he took Dan Snyder’s life into his hands…and promptly destroyed it. Dan Snyder was a human not a dog, you have to see the differance…
Besides, had Heatley been a black like Vick, he’d still be in jail…or at least out after 23 days, right Donte?
