06.26.09 JOE JUREVICIUS FILES LAWSUIT VS. BROWNS
Pro Football Talk has the poop on the Cleveland Browns wideout who filed a civil lawsuit against the team on the basis of negligence and fraud. The suit reads that the Browns knew about a staph problem with team facilities, one that allegedly contributed to the seven surgeries Jurevicius was forced to undergo to clean infections from his surgically repaired knee. The moral of the story is clear: don’t ever, EVER, go to Cleveland.
According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Jurevicius has filed a civil lawsuit in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. The defendants are the Browns, the Cleveland Clinic, former team physician Dr. Anthony Miniaci, and current team physician Dr. Richard Figler.
Jurevicius, per Cabot, claims that the defendants committed negligence and fraud, resulting in the staph infection that possibly has ended his football career.
Ohio treats Cleveland the way America treats Ohio, and Cleveland deserves it. Jurevicius was cut by the Browns in March and remains a free agent. PFT also noted that the Browns have had issues with staph as early as 2003. Probably has something to do with that giant fecal cloud hanging over the city limits. Get out while you can, LeBron! Save yourself!
