04.02.09 WE APOLOGIZE: THIS IS SOCCER NEWS
For the 98.7% of you who have no interest in soccer or the U.S. Men’s National Team: move along, nothing to see here. For the other seven of you, we feel it’s only fair to do a restrained jig about the Gringos’ 3-0 win against Trinidad & Tobago last night in World Cup qualifying, featuring a hat trick from 19-year-old phenom Jozy Altidore.
True, it’s not like T&T is stiff competition (Altidore’s third goal was a combination of inattentive defense and lazy goalkeeping), but the new lineup of Brian Ching and Altidore at striker freed up Landon Donovan to create more on the left wing and reduced the pressure on Donovan to be a goal-scorer (which he isn’t).
So there’s your little World Cup 2010 update. Only one more year until everything goes to complete hell in Africa! Er, y’know, more so.

WE APOLOGIZE: THIS IS SOCCER NEWS
Not only soccer news, but 7 skinhead-beating-Euro-flopping-WAG-screwing-onion-bagging-no-tits-from-Posh-or-Keira-Knightly minutes of soccer news….
I don’t get it…
Soccer we can take, but we really deserve an apology for the UFC news. I mean, was there nothing to report from the world of Pro Wrestling?
Donovan may not be known as a goal scorer, but the man knows how to tongue-was a scrotum.
I take a sabbatical and this is what I come back to?
What’s the King got against MMA?? He’s obivously never been punched in the face before or even more likely, he’s been beaten up so badly he still pisses blood years after the fact…I’m going with option 2.
Seven minutes? Christ, even the highlights are too long.
Is this some sort of fucking sick joke or something?
FAIL
Maybe someone should explain to these people what a “highlight” is…
As someone who watches football on a fairly consistent basis, I have to admit that I think the Americans have a long run in them at the 2010 World Cup. As much as it pains me to say (Canadian here), the US have a really good team. . . .
But one thing Canadians and Americans can agree on, is that Mexico sucks. And the night the US beat T&T, Mexico got their asses handed to them, and the coach (Sven Goran Erikson, the old, shitty England coach) got his ass fired.
