Busted Coverage has some of the highlights of Southern Cal’s big recruiting weekend, Swim With Mike, and I can only hope that “Mike” is the brunette in the inner tube with jugs to spare. I don’t know how effective a recruiting tool it is to throw your prized recruits into a pool with the most storied cheerleading squad in all of college football. It can’t hurt. Unless some of the recruits in question are on the ‘roids. But who am I kidding, that would never happen on Pete Carroll’s watch. They run such a clean program!

Umm, Swim With Mike has nothing to do with recruiting, it’s a fundraiser benefitting physically challenged athletes. It’s named for Mike Nyeholt, an all-american swimmer who was paralyzed in a motorcycle accident. Though it’s run by/at USC it awards scholarships to physically challenged athletes regardless of the school they attend.

Oh believe me, I have NO problem with the pictorial portion of the post. But just think how much better it would’ve been if instead of the ‘I hate Pete Carroll’ screed, that space had been used to post even more pictures!! The moral of the story? Don’t ad lib when you’ve got such brilliant material to post!
