TIGER WOODS: STILL AWESOME, I GUESS
03.30.09Tiger Woods entered Sunday’s round of the Bay Hill Invitational down by five shots. He finished the day with a 67, including a dramatic birdie on 18 capped by a 20-foot putt (pictured) to win the tournament by one shot. Everyone gets all crabby when people root for the Red Sox or the Lakers, but I guess front-running for Tiger is still cool. It’s as if his every conquest is a metaphorical blow to the curmudgeoned oligarchy of the white man. Let us laugh as this distinguished gentleman invades your prissy country clubs and walks off with all your trophies and leaves a really crappy tip for the mayor’s son working in the clubhouse. Ho ho!
Look, it’s still awesome every time he does goes out there and wins. It’s just that if I threw 100 people into the ocean, nobody would start cheering for the shark. The Tiger Woods bandwagon never seems to run out of seats, and yet I still wonder where the fairweather fans get off.

Anywhere the crowd has to be silent during play is further away from being sport than tennis is.
The reason why it’s ok to like Tiger and not the Red Sox, Yankees, Celtics, Lakers or Canadians is because Tiger’s fan’s arn’t self rightious assholes that seem to think that THEY somehow helped win all those championship’s and then brag to all there friends about all the championships THEY’RE team has…most of which were won before they we’re born and never got to see happen.
With Tiger it’s just sit back and enjoy the show, they’re never is a doubt in a Tiger fans mind, that it was all him…unlike Mickelson or Singh fans who think that saggy man boobs are the key to victory.
I’ve said thi before and I’ll say it again. The only reason people think golf sucks is because those people suck at golf.
I’ll be the first to admit that nothing puts me to sleep faster than Jim Nantz calling a golf shot on t.v. but when Tiger hit that insane putt at the 2005 Master’s…that’s better than watching a buzzer beater at the Final Four.

im just a fan of punch sports….Now, if tiger had have punched the photographer for insensitively making quite shutter sounds during a round, i might be more of a fan.
that and football, where the off seasons as much fun as the regular season, with all the DUI’s assaults and drownings….now that my friend is sport!
Biggie, maybe Tiger’s fans should get off their asses and help Tiger win like I did the ’04 Sox. I can’t take credit for the ’07 win, though. I had a bad rotator cuff…from masturbating too much.

I’m not really sure all of the people who enjoy watching Tiger play (and win) would consider themselves “fans.” I certainly don’t. But I’ll watch him for the same reason I’ll watch a video of a buzzer beater made by some high school team I’ve never heard of – it’s exciting to watch. And Tiger delivers many more exciting plays than just about any other professional athlete out there.
Plus, when he’s playing badly sometimes his bottom lip sticks out and it looks like he’s about to cry. And someday when the tears finally start rolling, I don’t want to miss it.
That must have been some load you blew Taco, having been backed up for 86 years… and for all you other Red Sox fans out there, winning 2 in 4 years doesn’t make up for nearly 9 decates of sucking!!
