THIS WAS KIND OF A BIG DEAL

The Netherlands and their 2 major league players were pretty impressive in beating those dirty Dominicans in extra innings last night. The Dominican team, boasting elite talent and over $83 million in major league salary, has now been eliminated from the World Baseball Whateverthefug:
“This is a miracle. The Dominican Republic is one of the best teams in the world,” Netherlands manager Rod Delmonico said with tears in his eyes. “It is difficult to describe what took place. These kids have fought for three days. I have never had a team with this much passion.”
It was the second time in four days that a Netherlands squad made up of little-known players upset the Dominican Republic, considered one of the favorites coming into the 16-team tournament thanks to a roster filled with major league All-Stars.
Even without injured Alex Rodriguez, the Dominicans featured David Ortiz, Hanley Ramirez, Miguel Tejada and Pedro Martinez, just to name a few. But in two games they couldn’t solve an unheralded Netherlands pitching staff coached by former big leaguer Bert Blyleven.
Some people are putting this upset in the same conversation with the Miracle on Ice at Lake Placid. Easy there, cabrone. The Miracle on Ice wasn’t a preseason exhibition game created by Bud Selig. I’m afraid hockey wins this round. Now there’s an upset.

i like to use bold and italics to identify when something is a “big deal”. that’s just me.
Ha ha ha fuck them
Hockey winning something on this website? Now THAT’S an upset!
Yeah, the Miracle on Ice was a midseason exhibition game. So suck on that, baseball!
The DR team is the new USA Basketball.
I feel like I’ve heard that before…
dominican lou says…. beisbol haaaa ben berry berry goot oooo me.
I once met a guy from the Netherlands who did play-by-play announcing of American baseball games. Cool to have a sportscasting job, but it was kind of the red-headed stepchild of sports for them compared to soccer. This is probably really good for his career.
Are you saying Jesus Christ can’t hit a curve ball?
baseball blows….but if i had to back a team in this game, based on the Netherlands = Amsterdam = drugs, alcohol, porn and prostitution and Dominican = hepatitis A & B, diarrhea and skanky hookers, i’d have to say…fuck em, glad they lost.
