Everyone, even (and perhaps especially) Presidents, needs a little distraction in their life. Obama likes college basketball. So what? Bush liked baseball. We’re not running against Bush–we’re running against the cunty double standard from a-holes like yourself. No liberal cried foul when Bush threw out baseball’s first pitch year after year. But the lead story on Drudge right now is Coach K whining about Obama’s brackets.

It wasn’t that he was some sort of god. It was that criticizing the president for filling out a March Madness bracket — which takes what, three minutes? — and then saying it was “the biggest waste of time for a president ever” was just pathetic.

And sorry, but Bush did fuck everything up. It may hurt your feelings to point out these pesky facts, but that’s the way it is. You act like the economy was humming along fine until January 20th, like Obama was the one who pushed through the first bailout of AIG and the rest.

And don’t lecture me on the dangers of blaming the past president. Bush and company blamed 9/11 on the Clinton administration, even though that happened eight months into their watch.

Listen, it’s clearly pointless arguing with you so this little bitch liberal is done. Go listen to Glen Beck or Rush Limbaugh with the other 24% of the country that agrees with you.

The rest of us will be sitting here watching the Republican Party wither and die, and trying to once again clean up after a conservative clusterfuck.

It is ridiculous to think Obama is the savior. Could you do me a favor and find a single liberal here who has actually suggested he is?

He saved capitalism and set the stage for the postwar era, when America underwent the single greatest expansion of its economy in its entire history. He basically created the middle class, built most of this country’s vital infrastructure, made America a military superpower, pulled the country out of the Depression and beat the Axis Powers. Wow, what an incompetent.

And yeah, internment was a horrible mistake. But that black mark doesn’t change the fact that he — like so many other Democratic presidents — came to power after a Republican fucked things up royally and made the country much stronger and much safer.

If you really want an example of what FDR did that was so bad, I’d have to say rounding up and imprisoning American citizens in concentration camps based upon their nationality is the most heinous thing ever done by a President. But hey – bygones!

FDR was worthless? Exactly how? In his first term, he managed to lower unemployment from 23% to 10%. The nation’s GDP grew by an average of 9% a year, and the Dow Jones more than quadrupled in value. There’s a reason he was re-elected in a landslide in 1936 — he had done a tremendous job.

And why exactly is infrastructure spending worse than defense spending? The New Deal built a shitload of massive developments — 10 percent of all new roads in America, 35 percent of all new hospitals, 70 percent of all new schools. They created water-supply and flood-control systems, sewers, ports and bridges. They built the Lincoln Tunnel, the Triborough Bridge and Boulder Dam. And guess what? The WPA was responsible for funding the creation of the USS Yorktown and USS Enterprise too.

What entitlement programs did he create that have created “entire segments of our population that have little or no will to take care of their selves”? Most of the welfare state stuff that conservatives hate — food stamps, AFDC expansions, etc. — were creations of Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon. What did FDR do that was so bad?

Are you talking about Social Security? Are you mad that those 70-year-old retirees are living off their SSA contributions? Or are you mad about the FHA funding that expanded the middle class in this country, broadening the percentage of people who owned their own homes from 40% to 68% in the postwar era? Do you worry about the hordes of undeserving suburbanites?
Or are you mad about the Veterans Administration and the GI Bill of Rights which gave all those shiftless, really undeserving veterans a break on housing and college education?

Yes, FDR was just worthless. Everyone hated him. That’s why he was elected president four times.

Signing the bill doesn’t mean that Bush created it, and your little knowledge of how our government works is really shining though. The Senate is controlled by Democrats. The House is controlled by Democrats. Sen. Chris Dodd (D)ickhead has specifically taken ownership in allowing the AID exec money to be added to LAST MONTHS STIMULUS BILL. Its not Bush’s fault that your leaders have buddy fucked you. Its what all politicians do. On top of that, Barry O took over $100,000 in campaign contributions from AIG. What does that mean?
