Wasn’t this a Seinfeld episode?
These pictures show the January 1st travails of a 48-year-old Vail skier who was upended and de-pantsed after getting on the chairlift. From The Smoking Gun:
It appears that the chairlift’s fold-down seat was somehow not in the lowered position, which caused the man to partially fall through the resulting gap. His right ski got jammed in the ascending chairlift, and that kept him upended since his boot never dislodged from its binding… The exposed skier was stuck for about 15 minutes before Vail personnel backed the lift up and successfully dislodged the unidentified man from the four-seat chair.
Keep in mind that there was a kid on the chair lift with him. Just a kid trying to go skiing, then wham! The lift comes to a halt, and there’s a man naked from the waist down dangling by one leg. And to that kid I would say, whether he’s afraid of heights or not, whatever you do, DON’T LOOK DOWN. Some things can’t be unseen.

When the guy told his travel agent, “I wanna get naked on some slope”, this wasn’t exactly what he had in mind.
