All right, time for a couple of heart-warming stories about murder.  First up, it’s Marisha Jeter, the high school cheerleader who was murdered after she supposedly slept with a married man (via SbB).

Investigators said that Thompson stabbed 16-year-old Marisha Jeter to death while his wife, Yolanda Thompson, held the girl down. The Thompsons are accused of then throwing Jeter’s body in the Broad River and burning her car…

According to investigators, Pernell Thompson had a relationship with Jeter while he was married to Yolanda Thompson. He killed Jeter to prove his love to his wife, prosecutors said.

Sounds reasonable.  In other uplifting news, an Oakland man was found guilty of first-degree murder for shooting a high school football player who had gotten into an argument with his sister over a television remote control (via BC).

So, uh, not exactly a cheerful day.  That’s why I’m borrowing a page from Breaking Bad News With Baby Animals.  Sure, innocent teens were cut down in the prime of life, but on the other hand, kittens!  Yay!
