12.11.08 MELO SCORED 33 POINTS IN A QUARTER
Carmelo Anthony tied George Gervin’s NBA record by scoring 33 points in a quarter (video after the jump), going off in the third period to lead the Nuggets to a 116-105 win over the Timberwolves last night. The mark has stood since 1978, when Gervin and David Thompson were vying for the scoring title on the final day of the regular season (Thompson scored 32 in a quarter to set a record that lasted for a couple hours).
Anthony finished with “just” 45 points — four points shy of his career high — and a team-high 11 rebounds. All in all, not a bad night. Not too many guys accomplish scoring marks that Jordan, Kobe, and even Chamberlain never reached. Especially when it comes to chicks.
Elsewhere: Ho-hum, Cavs win 10th straight (Lebron scores 29)… Team Formerly Known as the Sonics falls to 2-21 with loss to Grizz. Mwahahahahah! … Al Harrington’s 39/13 leads Knicks past Nets in Jersey.

Considering he had Michelin Man level layers of ice and bandages wrapped around both arms, I’d say 33 in a quarter is pretty good.
That’s a man-game stemming from his recent puberty. He never did that when he had WNBA ‘rows and all that baby fat.
Ballhog.
I know he can drunk drive, but can he finger roll???
