So let me get this straight...

Citi takes a bailout from the federal government. They buy the naming rights to the new Mets stadium. The Mets go out and sign K-Rod and Putz. So my tax dollars go to making Mets a much better team? As a Phillies fan, i am not pleased!

And all the New York papers rejoiced; for 1,000 headlines were created in a single day for the September 2009 collapse; most involving "Putz". Now the Mets still have work to do for these noble reporters, and must trade for people named "Dud" and "Jesus Christ again?"

I will miss Endy, but if this means I don't have to worry about a 6 run lead in the 7th inning being enough to actually win, then I'll get over it.

so the Suns get rid of all their defense, and one of their better young players (biased UVa alum) for more offense. D'Antoni's no longer there?

and the Mets overpay for a guy whose arm will fall off shortly after K-Rod's does and he's moved up to the closer role. Though Putz > Turk Wendell

I know no one comes here for actual sports analysis but I think the Mets are the big winners. They traded a couple of fringe guys (Heilman/Chavez/Smith) and some decent prospects for a stud reliever, Reed to offset Chavez and Green to offset Smith. Putz and KRod at the back of the rotation should be dominant
