11.03.08 SAINT ANDREW’S NET: WILD WEEKEND
Saint Andrew’s Net is With Leather’s daily link dump. It gets to work before you do.
- The Sporting Blog presents the finest college football recap in the land, The Alphabetical. This week, proper respects to the amazing end to the Texas-Texas Tech game, but snubs to the fantastic wins by Purdue and Northwestern.
- Shutdown Corner offers the Sunday Evening Spongebath, a sort of replacement column for MJD fans who miss the Smorgasbord. And if you’re new to blogs and don’t know what any of that means, go ahead and read it anyway. It’s about the NFL.
- Dave’s Football Blog had video of Jozy Altidore’s first goal for Villareal in La Liga. Not impressed? At age 18, you were still trying to get laid. Jozy’s a pro soccer player — in Spain.
- Awful Announcing gives us video of Texas Tech’s improbable last-second victory. Unfortunately, it excludes the near-interception on the previous play, so you lose a little bit of the drama. Still: essential viewing if you’re just getting caught up.
- Sports By Brooks gives you the most important news from the New York City Marathon: a hot chick finished third. She’s no Nadine Velaquez, but then, I’m in no position to choose.
Send tip and submissions for Saint Andrew’s Net to withleather@gmail.com. Donations are also accepted and will go directly to much-needed lap dances.
