11.11.08 SAINT ANDREW’S NET: VETERANS DAY

Saint Andrew’s Net is With Leather’s daily link dump.  Don’t worry, I took Veteran’s Day off yesterday.  I’m good now.

• The Sporting Blog honors vets with a list of the finest athletes who served in the military.  I honor them with women of the Israeli Defense Forces (with bonus flickr gallery).
• The Spoiler proves that Brazil is awesomer than us: they’re holding a WAG competition of some sort.  I don’t know.  I really just looked at the pictures.
• Food Court Lunch has something about Raptors point guard Jose Calderon facing his greatest fear.  Prepare yourself for LOTS OF CAPITAL LETTERS!!!!
• ESPN the Magazine interviewed cutman Jacob “Stitch” Duran to find out the bloodiest fights of his career. “It’s wasn’t a big cut, maybe a half an inch, but he severed that artery, and it just kind of poured out. Both fighters had blood from the top of their head to the bottom of their feet, front and back.”  YES!!! (via SbB)
