Rays 6, White Sox 4 — Evan Longoria began his postseason career by homering in his first two at-bats, powering the Rays to a win in their first playoff game.  Not bad for a guy with a soul patch.

Dodgers 10, Cubs 3 — Manny Ramirez homered for the second straight game, and the Cubs committed four errors to let their fans know that, hey, there’s always next year, right?  The Northside fans booed the home squad, a decision that I applaud.  That was probably their last chance to boo the team until next spring.

Phillies 5, Brewers 2 — CC Sabathia, not prone to mistakes or skipping meals, allowed pitcher Brett Myers to work a two-out walk over the course of a nine-pitch at-bat.  That was followed by Shane Victorino’s grand slam, and that was all the Phils needed.  The series will move to Milwaukee for Game 3, not that it matters.  The Brewers might be more done than the Cubs.  And that’s saying a lot.
