The NHL preseason has begun, and some of the big men in ice skates are already in midseason form. Case in point: the Canadiens’ Carey Price made this Matrix-style stick save last night. And I’m not kidding about the Matrix thing. It has to be shown in slow-motion for you to see anything. Hockey in real time just looks like a bunch of sticks flailing around. The NHL should really consider showing its games at two-thirds speed so people can follow what the hell is going on. Or do something really innovative, like digitally enhance the puck onscreen so it glows. Yeah, that would work out great.

Commenter Jim Jones is The Matrix.
Impressive, even more inpressive considering he is a man named Carey.
Ah yes, winter sports. Can’t wait til the weather here in SoCal cools off to 68 degrees, and we can all lace up our skates…
What’s the difference between a hockey fan and a retard? Lipstick!
There is a building. Inside this building there is a level where no elevator can go, and no stair can reach. On that level is the one TV that gets televised hockey.
And pucks with DIGITAL TAILS for really hard SLAPSHOTS! Because they’re going so darn FAST, you see?! Quit crying, mommy is DEAD!!
I just love it when people hide their ignorance of sports they know they couldn’t play by making fun of them.
Is that the best you’ve got, hockey?
The opening in the “viable alternatives to borderline illegal pornography” department remains unfilled.
People making sarcastic remarks about hockey on a sports blog? Now I’ve seen everything!
Rodney Dangerfield would like to make a few statements about hockey and the bloggers who write about it.
