Tampa Bay Rays star Evan Longoria and wildly overrated Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria have apparently struck up a friendship founded upon the deep bonds of having similar names (via SbB).

Press reports tell that Eva mailed off a bottle of champagne to congratulate Evan for his on-field success. And he returned the favor by giving Eva a Rays t-shirt.

One time I met someone and they were all, “Wait.  Did you play lacrosse in college?” No. “Whoa, that’s crazy! There’s someone else named Matt Ufford!  I should put you guys in touch!”  Oh yes, we’d have so much to talk about.  Like, how our names are the same.  It’s the sort of thing that has brought people together since the beginning of never.
