Here’s the new Old Spice ad where Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher confronts his nerdy youth. Copyranter has the print ad, and he says:
While I’m neither a fan of Urlacher or the Bears or even NFL football, this (somewhat ironic) anti-weakling message will definitely play well with the mooky tough and faux-tough guys who read ESPN magazine.
Hey, who you calling mooky tough and faux-tough, buster? I’ll kick your little nerd-bloggin’ ass! **cracks knuckles, puts ten-pound weights on bench press**

No disrespect meant. I’m of course not talking about all football fans and all the readers of ESPN mag, just a certain subset. I’m just not a big fan of the NFL. Also, I’m not the typical nerd blogger; I’m 6-2, ripped like Bruce Lee (snicker), and played hockey in college. I love my wildly unpopular sport.
Does this mean that we are soon going to find out that the guy playing Keytar with MC Hammer grows up to be Jared Allen after using Swagger?
I’ve always used Old Spice because it has odor protection +3 and lets the user cast befuddlement spells twice per day.

However, The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle is infinitely better than Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World.
