Earlier today, news broke that Rampage Jackson was in police custody again, just a day after an extended bout of reckless driving led to his arrest at gunpoint.  This time, he wasn't arrested: friends noted his erratic behavior and asked for police assistance to make sure he didn't hurt anyone. MMA Weekly:

“We were asked to assist with him and make sure that he was safe and not a danger to himself or others,” said Lt. Rick Handfield of the Irvine Police Department. “He was exhibiting some unusual behavior that his friends that were there felt concerned.” Details of Jackson’s exact behavior were not forthcoming.

“At the conclusion of our contact, we did detain him and take him to be seen by mental health professionals,” continued Lt. Handfield. He was not released back to Irvine police. “We left him with the mental health professionals.”

A source "semi-close" to Jackson, according to CagePotato.com, had this to say:

Close friends of Rampage had been very concerned about him the past few days [before the arrest]. He was very depressed and acting increasingly strange. There is something wrong with his mental well-being. They do not believe it is drugs or another substance. I have heard from others who said they’ve been concerned about his mental state for the past year.

I honestly and sincerely hope that Rampage finds whatever help he needs and has the support of good friends throughout this ordeal.  Just think about what Britney Spears went through.  Now imagine if Britney was a huge black guy named Rampage who was one of the best hand-to-hand fighters in the world.  The only choice would be to evacuate California and call the National Guard.
