05.20.08 JON LESTER THREW A NO-HITTER
Red Sox left-hander Jon Lester threw the first no-hitter in the majors this season, striking out nine and allowing only two baserunners as Boston blanked Kansas City 7-0 last night. It was the 18th no-hitter for the franchise, and the Major League-record fourth time that Jason Varitek has caught one.
Of course, the real story is how heartwarming and shit Jon Lester's life is. Lester, just 24, missed the end of the 2006 season when he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, which is a fancy term for "cancer." A year later, he pitched in Boston's World Series-clinching victory. And now he's thrown a no-hitter.
Hey, I had a friend with cancer once. He died. Thanks for bringing it up, Jon. Ass.

I struck out a side against my stepdaughter's 6th grade softball team, but you don't see me posting it online, do ya? Wake me up when he throws a no-hitter against AAA or better.
Nice job, but these are the Royals we're talking about. Pretty sure Dave Dravecky could pull that feat off.
Aren't the royals the farm team for the Syracuse Chiefs?
I wonder if my case 1 Melanoma can help me kick consistant 70 yard field goals…..brb
…………….
….nope, but now I have a broken foot AND melanoma.
Fucking Boston!!! Always gotta make a big deal about the smallest shit…I got monnow one time, but still was able to bang out a few hookers in one night. See me bragging about it? Noooooooo…
I can't believe that only 1 other pitcher has thrown a No Hitter against the Royals (Nolan Ryan).
You would think they get no-hit by the bat boy.
/Go SOX!
I hope his team mates call him Moe, as in Moe Lester
I had a friend who used to smoke. You know what he's doing now? He's DEAD!
If that story doesn't get you laid, you're gay. Like the rest of RedSawx Nation.
@ Doogie
Mono? as in Nucleosis?
its not that the media's excessive fawning all over the redsox is the result of bias, its just that the redsox do a lot fucking cooler shit than the rest of baseball.
I wonder if Manny Ramirez even noticed ?
What's the big deal? Curt Schilling has been pitching with AIDS his entire career.
I don't see what the big deal is with Lester coming back from cancer. He had good Hodgkins
Goose Gossage says that in his day everyone pitched with cancer and liked it.
