Hey, the NHL playoffs start tonight! All right! I'm not actually excited, but I'm genuinely happy for the hockey fans who get to enjoy the Stanley Cup Playoffs, which are somehow even longer than the NBA playoffs, which I didn't think was possible because the NBA playoffs go on for like 5 months.
In order to drum up excitement for the postseason, the marketing-savvy NHL has once again turned to celebrity bloggers for a viral campaign unlike any other. Take, for instance, Lauren Conrad (pictured, with side boob and side-boob Audrina – NSFW), The Hills star whose blank stares and silent pauses are the most believable of any character on the show. She claims to have followed the Kings the last two years, but she's now throwing her feverish support to the defending champion Ducks:

For kicks, here is my first round preview:
1 Montreal v. 8 Boston. Montreal beat them 8 times this season in 8 tries. Canadiens in 5.
2 Pittsburgh v 7 Ottawa. Sens are reeling and missing key pieces. Pitt is on fire. Pens in 6.
3 Washington V 6 Philadelphia. Caps are on fire. Only way Flyers win is if they criple AO. Caps in 6.
4 New Jersey v 5 NY Rangers. Neither team can score. Prepare for many OTs. Lundqvist edges out Broduer. Rangers in 7.
1 Detroit v 8 Nashville. I'm happy for the Preds making the playoffs, but Detroit is just too good. Wings in 6.
2 San Jose v 7 Calgary. Sharks are rolling and Flames have too many holes and inconsistent players. Sharks in 5.
3 Minnesota v 6 Colorado. Close match-up, but Wild's D wins out. Wild in 7.
4 Anaheim v 5 Dallas. Fuck Anaheim. Ducks in 6.
Playoffs should be entertaining. I'd be okay with anyone but Anaheim, Calgary, and Ottawa winning it all.
