With Leather has learned that the winningest coach in men's D-I college basketball history abruptly resigned Monday night. While many expected this season to be Knight's last, his decision to resign with ten games remaining on the Red Raiders' schedule has shocked the shit out of pretty much everyone.
"He's ready," Pat Knight said during his weekly radio show. "He's tired."
[Texas Tech chancellor Kent] Hance said, "I think Bob is through with coaching. I think he got to the point where it wasn't fun for him. He thought about it Sunday all day and talked to his wife and decided 'This is something I want to do.'"
So he talked to his wife and said I'M GETTING THE FUCK OUTTA HERE. I'M LEAVING AND YOU GUYS WILL FUCKING RUN TIL YOU CAN'T EAT SUPPER! YOU'LL THINK LAST NIGHT WAS A FUCKING PICNIC! I HAD TO SIT AROUND FOR A FUCKIN' YEAR WITH AN EIGHT-AND-TEN [sic] RECORD IN THIS FUCKIN' LEAGUE! He was a d-bag of epic proportions, so I fully expect to see him on ESPN unashamedly fellating himself about how great he was as a coach.
If it weren't for Erin Andrews and Stacey Dales, there would hardly be any reason to watch ESPN anymore.

The first time you saw him in person you would shit your pants and cry like a baby. He's one of the most intimidating people you will ever meet. During the filming of "Blue Chips," Shaq pranked everybody on the set except Bob. Because he was terrified of him. Like everyone else.
Looks like he finally realized that he lived in Lubbock, Texas.
He's a douchebag! He's a jerk! WAH WAH WAH! I'm guessing you pussies would rather play for Coach K because maybe he'll take you to McDonalds to get a happy meal when you have a bad practice. Some of sports most legendary coaches were hardasses. I'm not a fan of any team that Bob Knight has coached, but I still think he's one of the greatest college coaches. And his press conferences are classic.

The General is nothing compared to Roger Craig. He used to shove Louisville Sluggers up our asses if we missed a sign. That damn Roger Craig, what a cruel and heartless man.
Samuel – I said he was a d-bag, which he is, no one can argue with that. I didn't say he wasn't a good coach. Calm down. That said, there's a big difference between being a hard ass and a d-bag. Bud Grant was a hard ass, but he wasn't a d-bag. Bailing on team this late in the season is just the latest example of what a colossal d-bag Knight is and has always been.
