12.21.07 WEEKEND PICKS: SANTA CANS ARE COMING

What to watch for during holiday season's biggest matchups.  Home teams in ALL CAPS.

VIKINGS over Redskins — No real reason for this pick, except to give Big Daddy Drew some angina pectoris for Christmas.  My jinxing skills are legendary: last week's triple pick against the Dolphins pushed them to their first victory of the season.

Roast Beef over TURKEY — Dude, Thanksgiving was less than a month ago.  Mix it up a little.  And have some Yorkshire pudding, too.

Roast Beef Curtains over SPAM BUTTERFLY — Purely a matter of linguistics, but a preference of mine nonetheless.

UCLA over BYU — In the Pioneer Bowl.  I haven't seen a single game by either team all year, but I just don't like Mormons.  Too friendly.  Plus I don't trust teetotalers.

Doing the Dishes over PIONEER BOWL –  And I HATE doing the dishes.

Suns over LAKERS — This is the televised NBA game on Christmas Day that doesn't blow.  Is it good or bad that Kobe leads the Lake Show in assists (4.8/gm)?

BOOZE over Gift Cards — A lot of people buy gift cards for me when they're not sure what I want.  You know what?  I don't even know where the nearest Circuit City is.  Just pick me up something at the liquor store.  That's a gift I can always use.
