Because of Missouri's loss to Oklahoma, West Virginia's inexplicable defeat to the crutches of Wannstedt, and LSU's win over Tennessee, it appears that Ohio St. will play for the BCS Championship for the second straight year. And most likely against a SEC opponent – LSU – again. And they'll probably lose again. By a lot . . . again. We'll know for sure soon when FOX announces the BCS games – it took longer than expected for the Bears to blow their game against the New York Football Giants. I'm sure the Chief will offer his expert analysis of the match-ups tomorrow.
By the way, this BCS is a hell of a system, isn't it? How many overrated Big Ten teams have to produce crappy bowl game performances before they change this thing? Oh well, at least undefeated Hawaii may get the chance to play in a BCS game. I wonder who they'll play? Notre Dame? -KD

Better LSU than WVU. That made me nervous.
Go Bucks
So the Bucks get to beat up a Les Miles before he starts at Michigan next season.
Sounds interesting.
woohoo, go bucks!
This seems familiar; OSU in the National Championship against an SEC team…
And, besides LSU fans, your (the encompassing "your") teams are doing what for the bowl games? Not playing on 1.7.08, that's for sure. After OSU lost to Illinois, they didn't deserve to be anywhere near number one, and they weren't. You have no one to blame but your own team's poor play in games they should've won, pure and simple.
Are the erudite OSU fans not going to use the letters L, S or U leading up to the game? It's not as if anything they say will make any sense anyway.
And can we get a rule that makes OSU play a game within four months of the bowl season? Say what you will about OSU, but they are smart enough to figure out that they can't lose games when they stop playing them.
If Ohio just doesn't play maybe they can keep moving up to National Champs, How boring another OSU team getting massacred by the SEC, I hope the ref's keep it close
While UGA has no one to blame but themselves, we should have gotten a shot. LSU had their chance twice, and they lost games. For them to jump from 7 to 2 by playing a shitty game against UT is retarded. Oklahoma, USC, and UGA are by far better than them.
Hopefully it's a tie.
You mean the Oklahoma that lost twice this season to unranked teams? Or the USC team that lost to a Stanford team that lost 8 games, including one to Notre Dame? Or maybe it was Georgia who who didn't even finish ahead of LSU in their own conference. Some rock solid arguments there
Hey Ball
I'm a student at Ohio State.
If you want to start an argument with me, fine, but there has to be one rule: No making up words like erudite to try to sound fancy.
Wait, its really a word? Shit…
Man, weekend commentors really need to get the hell off this site…
The one on the left looks like she's had the most practice at this. Definitely a yes.
bobafet: "I hope the ref's keep it close" you mean like the title game against Miami?
as for the banner pic: if "Michigan" is slang for "this ass" then I am happy to oblige, with all six of them
Ohio State is 4-1 in BCS games. Granted, the one was an unprecedented public raping, but they usually fair well in these types of events.
Historically the only SEC team they fare well against is LSU. Not that what happened in the 1980s means anything for this game.
LSU doesn't deserve squat. They're only being hyped now because the sports media has hyped their precious but mediocre SEC all year long, so they have to keep hyping an undeserving LSU now. Georgia and VT were ranked higher than LSU coming into this wekend's games. Why? Because Georgia and VT have simply been playing far BETTER than LSU, period.
C'mon — LSU has been squeaking by all year long, just like they did yesterday. Did LSU really impress ANYONE with their sloppy, close win over a mediocre-at-best Tennessee? LSU needed a defensive score in the 4th quarter on a terrible pass by a mediocre quarterback on a mediocre team to win, and everyone thinks THAT sad performance makes them deserving to leap over 3 or 4 other teams and get a home game for the national championship?
On top of that, LSU gave up 93 f-ing points in their two losses to UNRANKED and mediocre Kentucky and Arkansas — 50 points to Arkansas JUST LAST WEEK! Yeah, that sure makes them deserving — they give up 50 POINTS to an unranked team JUST LAST WEEK, and they get a home game for the title.
But again, LSU is the winner of the media's precious, precious SEC, so the media wh0res reward them rather than admit that the SEC remains an over-hyped bunch of mediocre teams that can't play defense.
reggid,
I'm a Buckeye fan, and even I think you're exaggerating just a bit… last year it was the winner of the SEC vs. OSU, and the media gave Florida no chance going into the game, and I think we all remember what happened after that opening kickoff return.
Let's face it, even though I think the SEC was weaker this year than years past, the Big Ten really wasn't that impressive either. I think OSU's schedule was tougher than say, Kansas's schedule, but not LSU's. I still think OSU is the better team, but I thought we were better than Florida last year too… before the game.
Blake: OSU may be 4-1 in BCS games, but they are 0-8 all time versus SEC teams in bowl games. Damn.. I really don't sound like a Buckeye fan do I? I guess I learned my lesson last year after talking shit for 7 weeks to all my Florida friends. It's not been an easy year living in Jax, FL after those 7 weeks.
Who gives a shit about the game. Didn't anyone see that sweet lil booty on the far left!?
