What better way to start off the week than by reporting on the Red Sox and Yankees, two small-market baseball clubs ignored during the regular season until they put together their playoff runs?
Yes, the Red Sox won their ninth consecutive postseason game against the Angels, completing a three-game sweep with a 9-1 win in the city of Los Angeles of Anaheim. Curt Schilling, pitching on a mere 12 days' rest, held the Angels scoreless for seven innings, while David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez hit back-to-back solo shots in the 4th that gave the Sox a narrow lead until a 7-run outburst in the 8th sealed the series.
