Remember last season when Ohio State was #1 and Michigan was #2 and everybody was like, "these could be the best 2 college football teams ever." Then the Buckeyes beat the Wolverines in an entertaining game, and everybody was like: "these are still the best 2 teams in college football, so they should play for the national championship." Some were disappointed when OSU played Florida in the BCS National Championship game, and Michigan played USC in the Rose Bowl. Then both Big Ten both teams were waxed in their respective bowl games, and everybody was like: "perhaps we regarded these teams too highly." Well, whoever makes the polls has a short memory because they ranked Michigan #5 this season (probably because of several returning starters at key offensive positions), and the mighty Wolverines lost to Division I-AA opponent Appalachian State today.
A pretty girl at the tavern just said that's the highest-ranked team ever to lose to a I-AA foe. You can fact-check that yourselves and read about this colossal upset here – I'm going to see if she'll succumb to a lower-league competitor. -KD

I got a full ride for soccer to App. Also, I was recruited by Wake and I could have gone there, but I chose App. It's a smaller school, I had a better chance to stand out both in the classroom and on the pitch. Just because it isn't a well known school doesn't make it shitty. Get a clue. I got a free ride and it's a great school. I'm not sure what you have against ASU, but keep it to yourself because I don't and I'm sure nobody else on this board gives a shit.

@The Hero: There are some strange ordinances in Watauga County. There are liquor stores in Boone, but you can't buy liquor at a restaurant. You can get beer and wine anywhere. So it isn't officially "dry." Also, there are no sorority houses there because the county considers more than 8 non-related women living together a whore house.
Don't get me wrong, there were definitely sororities, and they lived together, but the university would set aside certain dorm floors for them to live on.

Yes, you have me all figured out. I was born in Gainesville, FL and lived there for most of my life. But, I admit I have been a bandwagon fan since 1996 after Florida lost to FSU, 24-21.

My grandfather found out that he was terminally ill the summer of 99, so I wanted to be a little bit closer to him and the family. I had to choose between soccer and seeing him during his last days or soccer and not seeing him, so I chose App. Family was more important to me. People goto different colleges for different reasons, and that was my reason. I had a great time during my college years, and now I have a job that pays well above average and well above some of my high school friends that went to more "well-known" colleges. I'd say I made the right choice. Thanks for chiming in, though.
