CLAY BUCHHOLZ THREW A NO-HITTER
09.02.07So I'm dancing with a lovely lady at the wedding I attended last night when my pants' pocket starts vibrating uncontrollably. Usually that's a very good sign the medicine the doctor prescribed is working, but in this case it was just friends and relations texting and calling me with news that Clay Bucholz of the Boston Red Sox threw a no-hitter last night against the Baltimore Orioles. My favorite part is when Beckett says the rookie did much better than Curt Schilling. They sure look like they're having fun, but I think I had just as good a time at the reception. By the way, if anybody out there knows why I have a hospital ID bracelet on my wrist, please contact me. -KD

Hats off to this guy. Second start in the bigs? It's all going to go down hill from here since "Red Sox Nation" will treat him like Jesus. If they only goes 3 innings his next start, they'll start booing him.

He throws some nasty, nasty pitches. Id've rather had him up in July instead of seeing Julian Tavarez have the effectiveness of a ninety year old woman.
I think everyone is missing the real question — can the O's finish the hat trick of shame? They have already completed the "give up the most runs in modern history" leg and cleared the "get no hit by a beanstalk rookie" hurdle. I think the last stage has something to do with Bea Arthur, midgets and vaseline.
Good to see that this kid's life hits its Zenith at age 14. Jesus, can he even drive himself to and from the Stadium?

I think the O's can sink much lower, there's a rumor the french-canadian Érik Bédard will end his season.
The Bedard loss will make the O's worse but we are looking for quality shame moments. The O's have set the bar fairly high. Bedard would need to end his season by pulling a Mick Hutchence and somehow accidentally strangle himself in the bullpen while "warming up." The judges would probably accept that.
