Remember when Lance Briggs's $350,000 2007 Lamborghini was found wrecked on the Edens Expressway? Seems like a long time ago, but police have finally discovered who was responsible: Lance Briggs.
[Briggs] was charged with leaving the scene of an accident after crashing his Lamborghini and leaving it alongside an expressway on the city's North Side, Illinois State Police said Monday. After meeting with police Monday afternoon, Briggs also was cited for failure to give immediate notice of an accident and improper lane usage…
Bears coach Lovie Smith indicated the team will not discipline Briggs, whose "spirits were good for being in a one-car accident."
You know what would put me in a good mood after I left the scene of my wrecked Lambo? Not getting a DUI.
Just sayin'.

You know what would put me in a good mood after I left the scene of my wrecked Lambo?
Not finding the whore that died in the accident, whom I rolled over the jersey wall and into the ravine below the expressway.
Best thing that he could have done. As long it's a one-car accident, get the fuck out of there if you've been drinking at all.
So he didn't make it to the dog fight?
I'm impressed. Thats one hell of a smart move on his part.
Leaving the scene of an accident <<<<<< DUI
Same thing happened to me and my Ford Focus. Now I ride the bus to work.
The Bears are looking pretty smart now for not putting the franchise tag on the Lamborghini.
"Improper lane usage"- that's going to cost him 4 games.
I think he's got a job as a highly trained assassin. He was coming back from a job with a second assassin who was order to kill him. Lance fought back and killed his killer and ruined his Lambo. If the police look hard enough, they will find someone who looks like Harvey Keitel lying in a ditch with his throat crushed.
*ordered.
Wish I had thought of that.
Too bad, too. He crashed it right before he got it to 88.
"Improper lane usage"- that's going to cost him 4 games.
KOO-BE!

While they are at it, may as well issue a parking ticket and a citation for a defective vehicle.
Anyone else hear he was racing? That's what I heard. Racing to the bottom of a keg can of Heiniken.
What's your monthly insurance bill look like after a wreck like this when you drive a $350,000 car?
I dunno, but Geico just saved me a ton on car insurance.
Leonard Little is SO over this story.
Wrapping your car around a lamp post – so easy, a caveman can do it.
Nice how Lovie just blows this off. One of the team leaders rips up his new Lambo at 3:00 AM in an accident that was obviously his fault on a Sunday night and bails out on his responsibilities. Best case scenario he was racing and didn't want to explain it. WOrst case he was hammered and didn't want the DUI.
The best his head coach can come up with is "his spirits were good." Gee, Lovie, enable much? I thought you were supposed to be one of the new breed of coaches that believes character matters. Tank Johnson, Ricky Manning, anybody spot a trend?
Speaking of Caveman, was there not supposed to be a summer sitcom featuring the two Geico Cavemen on fox this summer? How were we robbed of that gem?
Woah, badaxx. Put things in a little perspective before you diarrhea everywhere. In reality, he was in a serious one car accident in which he could have died, and is lucky to have walked with his life. That is what Lovie is talking about. It's not his job to speculate, but speak on facts. Second, Briggs is not a team leader in anything beyond stats.
Tank Johnson is gone, Ricky Manning had troubles BEFORE becoming a Bear and has been free of it since. Try not to confuse a problem the entire NFL faces with a problem the Bears are facing. Point the finger at Marvin Lewis and Paul Tagliabu, not Lovie. Besides, you are already covicting Briggs on what grounds? You're a judge? Sorry for being so serious.

you were robbed of nothing…. yet. give it until mid november, tops.
So he Punk'd himself?
until mid november,
That would mean that ABC let this thing air during November Sweeps, and that ain't happenin'.
If Michael Vick has taught us anything, it's that football teams should have no interest in what their players do in their own time, and even if the engage in reckless or dangerous behavior, that is no reason to not invest millions and millions of dollars in them, because there is no way their conduct will be embarassing or even illegal. Thank you, Ookie!!!
OMG! OMG! OMG! I haven't missed this pinnacle of television genius!? Whew! Now. If you'll excuse me, I have about 3 inches of hard sausage to please with this great news.
Swany… I'm not putting Briggs in prison, I'm saying he failed to show something that Lovie preaches all the time… accountability. If he wrecked his car because he's a bad driver, then stick around and explain to the cops. We all know that's not what happened, though. He was doing something stupid/dangerous/illegal and knew the only way to lessen the impact was to run away from the problem. A problem entirely of his own making, so I'm not going to feel real sorry for him.
Briggs is a team leader because he's the highest paid player on that team. That makes him a de facto leader whether he likes it or not. I'm not saying they are as bad as the Bengals, but there's a nasty little trend here on this Bears team. We can go ahead and throw in Kreutz and Fred Miller at the shooting range as well. It wouldn't bother me nearly as much if Lovie didn't talk about doing things the right way and being accountable. It was lip service with Tank, and it's lip service now.
Ricky Manning had lots of warning signs that he was a hothead, but the Bears ignored it and signed him anyway. He rewarded them by getting arrested the night after he signed. Nice.
this is really happening right now….
Good decision for a guy looking for a big contract.
