THE TRADE DEADLINE IS TODAY
07.31.07
So, Major League Baseball's trade deadline is today, and the biggest trade looks to be… uhhh…. hmn. Kevin Garnett to the Celtics?
If you're down with all the trade talk, you can peep ESPN.com's report card here or a savvy, entertaining blog version here. Basically, the Braves got Mark Teixeira (pictured, left) for a playoff push but in doing so allowed the Rangers to get the better end of the trade, including hot catching prospect Jarrod Saltalamacchia, which sounds either delicious or very, very contagious. The Rangers continued building for the future by shipping off Kenny Lofton's ancient legs back to Cleveland for another young catching prospect, Max Ramirez. And it looks like the Phillies made a couple of small, smart moves to improve the team for the stretch run and the future.
There were some other trades, but it's still kinda early and I might fall asleep if I keep talking about baseball. Don't get me wrong, I love baseball. America's pastime, yadda yadda. But trade talk in the morning before I've had coffee? Or mescaline? I'd almost rather watch the WNBA. Almost.

Damnit Kenny just retire. You're about as much past your time as black and white porn………so actually, i guess you'll make do if necessary and there's no other options
A dose of penicillin'll clear that Saltalamacchia right up.
KG to the Cs? As long as Jesus Shuttleworth doesn't have to miss too much time for his ob-gyn appointments, the Cs should be strong enough to be the East's 2008 sacrificial lamb to the West.
I like my Saltalamacchia extra rare with a dash of pepper on whole wheat bread. Unless its the contagious type, at which point I wouldn't touch it with Hercules B. Wonderful's doodle.
Matt, you probably got a million emails about Scarlett agreeing to play Jenna Jameson, right?
That game ees sooo reeeeeeeel.
Even MORE exciting than those trades… I traded my ham sandwich, chips, and a banana for a HungryMan Dinner.
WNBA??? Good God man!! Have you no respect to ass going up and down the HARDWOOD? hee-hee, I said "hardwood".
@ devang…. you made my day…. incredible…. she better take the top off
Sorry WW11, my bad. It's not true.

I will now go to the asshole corner.
Smart moves by the Phillies; now they'll get within a half game of a wild-card spot before collapsing, as opposed to their customary 2 games.
You know that Scarlett thing was too good to be true. Like the flying cars from 'Back to the Future 2'.
More like "the hoverboard is not real" disappointment HHY.
Elijah Dukes to the Marlins, where he and Scott Olsen can unite in their quest to impregnate every woman and beat up every man in Florida.
I got tested for Saltalamacchia last week. They stuck a Q-tip in my urethra. Turns out I just had the clap.
Yeah, the hoverboard was sweet too. Or the hologram 'Jaws 7' thing at the movie theatre that scared Marty McFly. (The Back to the Future movies have been in rotation on cable).
I did not know there was a tradeline until the countdown clock provided by ESPN last night. Thanks Bristol!
