Was the competitor on the left eating during the match?  I'm no sports medicine guru, but I can't think of a sport where it's acceptable or even a good idea to consume food during the event.  Except eating contests, I guess.  Did the doctor who treated Kobayashi's jaw study sports medicine? -KD
