THIS WEEK IN BENGAL UPDATES
05.22.07
Because things happen too quickly in the world of the Cincinnati Bengals for me to keep up with all the time, let's take a moment to catch up with America's most potent high-scoring, wiener-sucking, law-breaking machine.
• Remember how Chris Henry tested positive for opiates and was going to get 88 days in jail? Well, actually, prosecutors need to do more tests before anything becomes final. So this is kind of a retraction. Until Henry fails the next test, anyway.
• As Kevin reported this weekend, linebacker A.J. Nicholson was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault. Yesterday, even though Nicholson pleaded not guilty, the Bengals released him. As usual, shoddy police work is to blame:
[Nicholson's girlfriend] insists she accidentally hit herself with a cell phone, and police misread what happened.
I suppose she accidentally dialed "911" when she hit her face with her own cell phone, as well.
So there's that. Steelers fans, before you get too excited about more arrests for your rival team, you might want to check your inbox: Pittsburgh's offensive line coach sent a pornographic email to every GM in the league, plus der Kommissar Herr Goodell. Man, sometimes "Reply All" can be a real bitch.

I’m sure that email contained a lot of offensive lines.
Sometimes you just gotta share a hot porn tip with Chairman Chancellor Goddell.
Didn’t HBO have a show about the Bengals on for a while? I think it was called “OZ”.
See, that just makes me like the Steelers more – who hasn’t sent an inappropriate email by mistake to their boss at one time or another?
Ya know, shit happens. I know my way around a computer, even built one in high school but a few years ago, I sent an email to my girlfriend that was intended for the girl that I was fooling around with, in fact it was to tell her that I wouldnt be fooling around with her anymore.
That worked out nicely.
The “shit happens” defense could get you about 20 years in the pokey in Norwich, Connecticut.
Someone should introduce Carson Palmer to Brady Quinn.
@CG – they will give head-to-head twice a year in the NFC North.
I think it’s very brave of Palmer to come out of the closet, and I think that John Morrell is clearly very progressive in its willingness to be endorsed by the sport’s first openly gay star player.
You listening, Brady Quinn?
and i just figured you all would be wondering how YOU could get on his email list……
Didnt this guy just get the Pittsbusrgh offensive line gig? It was Russ Grimm forever. (I know this becuase the Bears brought Grimm in for a coaching interview before they hired Lovie Smith and all the Chicago meatballs were excited because he was a ‘meat and potatoes’ kind of guy. Fucking dolts.)
