Pacman Jones has been suspended for the 2007 NFL season by commissioner Roger Goodell.
Man, a whole year with nothing to do but work out and go to strip clubs. Pacman Jones got a pretty sweet deal. Do you know how much dope Ricky Williams had to smoke before he got suspended for a year? This really is quite an achievement for such a young player.
Somewhat overshadowed in this story is Chris Henry, the troubled and troublesome Bengals wideout, who managed a mere eight-game suspension. That's gonna get in the way of his extracurricular exploration of Kentucky's and Ohio's statutory laws. He really should have made the trip to NBA All-Star Weekend in Vegas, or at least shot some people. Maybe waved a gun around at the least.
What's that? Suspended without pay? Oh. Nevermind, then.

Obviously Goodell has no belief in due process because all of this has to do with the PR stuff from All-Star Weekend.
Deadspin had it real, Goddell really did put the verbal bitchslap on them in the press release.

Yeah whatever, Signal please spare me the due process garbage. NFL doesn’t need a bunch of stupid players running around making the NFL look bad. So the only way these knuckleheadsare ever going to understand that their behavior is unacceptable to suspend them without pay.
So is this going by the Chinese New Year? Wiccan New Year? What? Cause I’m surprised the word “year” could be heard clear enough before one of Pacman’s 18 lawyers shouted “appeal!” to the Players Union.

While Goodell’s hands were tied — either he does it now or the teams get pissed off when he suspends them post-draft and free agency and they can’t fill those holes well — it’s power-tripping, and the NFLPA is still a joke.
Nope David, Signal is right. What happens if both guys are exonerated on all charges? Expect a protracted legal fight over this.
Hercules, I agree to a point, but if the Gene Upshaw and the NFLPA weren’t the league’s bitch boys, these two might have some chance at appealing these suspensions.
That being said, without any football on his plate, I say PacMan gets killed sometime in 2007.

Well weren’t they already incarcerated? Little late to be exonerated… I kind of wish the NHL had the same courage, sadly, nhl players don’t make it rain much.
Don’t give me any of this due process bullshit. Jones is a worthless piece of shit. Between 05 and 06, the guy has had at least EIGHT run ins with the law. One at least two seperate occassions, he spit in a woman’s face. He’s violated his probation and had it extended multiple times. He slammed a strippers head on a stage. He sucker-punched a fan at a football game. The guy is fucking scum. Why the hell shouldn’t he be suspended for a year? If any of us had done those things, we would have been FIRED from our jobs. It’s a fucking joke that some of you are actually defending this piece of trash.
