KRIS DIELMAN IS A WARRIOR
03.05.07
Guard Kris Dielman re-signed with the Chargers this weekend after realizing his most avid suitors were headquartered in a dystopian hell.
The rain-vs.-sun dichotomy was re-emphasized over the weekend when the free-agent guard left Seattle in the middle of his soggy visit with the Seahawks and returned to San Diego after agreeing to re-sign with the Chargers.
The Saturday-morning conversation with his agent, Mike McCartney, came with this statement that is destined for free-agent infamy: "I told him, 'Get me out of here, man. Get me home, back to sunny San Diego.' "
Whew. What a hard-nosed monster of a football player. And smart, too. Who knew it rained in Seattle?
Dielman also panned Chicago as "too cold," Arizona as "too hot," Miami as "too humid," New York as "too city-y," San Francisco as "too hilly… and gay," Cincinnati as "too lawless," Cleveland as "too much the shittiest place I've ever seen," and New Orleans as "too black."

What a fucking pussy. Maybe he should just retire and open a B&B in California wine country.
Nuke California?
I’m up for it.
when sought for comment on his opinion of “Sunny San Diego” – Eli Manning was reportedly unavailable until the conclusion of his game of squash.
It’s a good thing Dielman took the trip up here to Seattle and toyed with us fans before reaching his decision. It’s not like that game the Chargers played in Seattle in December — less than 3 months ago, to boot — would have helped make up his mind.
Now that Norv’s in charge, I believe the Chargers organization actually has become a B&B … so Dielman has that going for him.
This post is simply sour grapes, made worse by the aftertaste of losing Steve Hutchinson a year ago, when you coulda kept him for what Dielman would have cost. Suck it up, Seahawks fans – it IS better down here in San Diego (74 degrees and hardly a cloud in the sky right now). Go Bolts!
No mention of the fact that the guy took way less money to stay in SD? Maybe actually playing for a team that has a chance to win something in the years ahead means something? And yeah, the weather here is great today. . .
I call bullshit. No way a team coached by Norv Turner wins anything. I’m sure all the sunshine will comfort you after all the futility Norv brings with him.
Cameron, you fail basic reading comprehension. Where in that post did I say that San Diego WASN’T nice?
And yeah, I’m totally broken up the Seahawks aren’t paying $7 million a year for an interior lineman.
Matt, I know about paying $7 million a year for an interior lineman – I’m a Vikings (gulp) fan. Fuck.
seattle doesn’t need any offensive lineman anyway. shaun alexander had a great year last year. 3.6 yards per carry is great, isn’t it? oh wait…
he only wanted to go back to San Diego because it means “a whale’s vagina” – who wouldn’t want to play there?
