Thanks to all you sexy readers who contributed your thoughts on the Eli Manning Christmas Eve karaoke saga. It turns out that all of you aren't just sexy pieces of ass; I also love you for your sparkling senses of humor.
There are so many great comments in the original post that it's hard to single out a few. dp called for Beck's "Loser," which seemed fitting, but too cool for Eli. Ridiculously gay songs made me laugh: Culture Club's "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me?" (scudx), Diana Ross's "I'm Coming Out" (Rocs), and so on.
But I particularly liked the comments that took the father angle. As Kyle noted, Everclear's "Father of Mine" has the right kind of bitterness towards a father… but as you'll recall, that song deals with the father being absent. I'm sure Eli would have preferred that. No, my favorite comment came from an anonymous emailer, who shared this gem:
"Cats in the Cradle"–as Archie: "He'd say, 'I'm gonna be like you dad./You know I'm gonna be like you./…/And as I hung up the phone it occurred to me:/He'd grown up just like me./My boy was just like me."
Archie Manning, career: 125 TDs, 173 INTs. Yeah, that's our winner.

Shit, “Cats in the Cradle†is brilliant.
I’m kind of glad Everclear didn’t win, they’re kind of douchey.
Brilliant Sir!! Makes me all misty eyed.
Little Boy Blue, indeed.
yeah KIND of douchey
Is 58 the new WL comment record?
Indeed it is — by a longshot. Usually the focus is more on me.
